femtrace navigation lowdown on menopause recent reports important safety info

What is Femtrace®?
Femtrace is the first tablet to treat moderate-to severe hot flashes and night sweats of menopause with the hormone estradiol acetate. Femtrace is an oral medicine that contains an estrogen. Once in your body, Femtrace changes to estradiol, the same hormone made naturally in your ovaries. Femtrace is available in three strengths. Your healthcare provider can prescribe the lowest dose that's right for you.

How can Femtrace help me?
Because Femtrace provides your body with estrogen, it can help relieve the moderate-to-severe hot flashes or night sweats of menopause.

How should I take Femtrace?
Femtrace should be taken once daily, regardless of whether or not you have eaten. Be sure to follow the specific directions of your healthcare provider.

As a precaution, the FDA is advising women who are using or considering estrogen or estrogen–progestin treatment to consult with their healthcare provider about whether they are at increased risk for breast cancer or stroke. The FDA recommends that all estrogens prescribed for the treatment of menopausal symptoms should be used at the lowest effective dose and for the shortest possible time consistent with treatment goals and risks.

To help provide just the right amount of estrogen your body needs, Femtrace is available in three dosage strengths: 0.45 mg, 0.9 mg, and 1.8 mg.

If you have a uterus, talk with your healthcare provider about whether the addition of a progestin is right for you.
